I've been on Prince Edward Island for most of a week. Being near the ocean calms me. I've slept better. My pain disorder isn't flaring as badly. I'm relaxed. I really don't want to leave.

Absolutely adored Mandalorian and Grogu. I felt some nostalgia for 80's and 90's movies like Too Gun and Bladerunner in the way some of the scenes were filmed.

But yeah, I would compare this current moment to how it was back in the day when we would SSH into servers manually to deploy stuff and get paged to go to the data center and wing it vs our modern era with DevOps and infrastructure as code. Or before test-driven development and continuous tests

This whole thread is very correct. Until I was laid off from the Reader, half of what I did was try to divine previous decisionmaking because nobody really knew why things had been built the way they had been. And now that's true with my work there too. A frustrating cycle continues.
